Meth Lab Clean-Up

Methamphetamine manufacture in clandestine laboratories has been on the rise in the United States over the past few years and shows no signs of slowing down. When Meth is made or smoked in a structure, that structure will more than likely suffer contamination both from the hazardous chemicals used to manufacture the drug and from the residue of the drug itself.

Most counties have a Health Department that is responsible for ensuring that any identified Meth Lab is boarded up until the structure is remediated by a qualified contractor and cleared by a Certified Industrial Hygienist in accordance with Colorado state regulations.

ICA has cleaned many of these Meth Labs and is recognized by most local counties and the Colorado Department of Public Health and the Environment as a qualified remediation contractor. Our remediation technicians are trained in accordance with OHSA 1910.120 HAZWOPER and all work is performed in accordance with local county clean-up regulations, Colorado State clean-up regulations, and the Certified Industrial Hygienist work plan.

FAQ’s

My rental unit was used to make Meth and has now been boarded up…what do I do?

Your first call should be to ICA. We can walk you through the process required to bring your property back to habitable status. We will recommend a Certified Industrial Hygienist who will to do the Preliminary Testing require by the regulations.

Once the result of the tests are back, we will prepare an estimate for the clean-up based on the Hygienist recommendations. Once accepted, we will complete the clean up. The Hygienist will then return to take clearance samples. Once those samples come back below the State clean-up minimum standards, the applicable local authority can issue a Certificate of Occupancy allowing the property to be inhabited again.

How much will this cost?

Every job is different. The final cost of a job will be dependant on the work required to fully remediate the property based on the regulations and the Hygienist work scope. Unfortunately, the cost associated with this type of clean up can run into the many of thousands.

How long will this take?
Once again, this depends on the size of the job. Most clean up operations take around two weeks, but the whole process can take one to two months from the initial call to the final clearance.
